I am a second-grade teacher for New Hanover County Schools. I began working in a charter school while pursuing my MAT in elementary education, as a teacher’s assistant. After gaining more experience, I landed a job as a tier 3 interventionist for NHCS, and then moved on to be a substitute, a paraeducator, and then began my student teaching in Kindergarten. After my student teaching, I was offered a job as a second-grade teacher. This is now my second year in second grade. I have experience in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. Before beginning my journey in education, I worked for a nanny agency, the Boys and Girls Club, and I have volunteered with several organizations. I have also completed an internship with the Guilford County Guardian ad Litem Program, advocating for children in court. I have 10+ years of childcare experience in various settings. During my undergraduate studies, I was also VP and President of Kappa Delta Pi.
