ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Plans, coordinates & manages an area within the QC department.• Maintains a safe working environment and implements safety improvements.• Evaluates and develops personnel.• Assist in developing department goals and objectives; ensures achievement of department milestones and /or KPIs.• Ensures staff meets testing schedules and requirements for raw materials, in-process & finished devices in conjunction with Operations.• Prepares and controls department budget.• Ensures that staffs are trained in required procedures & practices.• Ensures lab and working areas are in compliance with GMP, QSR & ISO requirements.• Coordinates department initiation, review & approval of documents to ensure compliance with internal procedures & policies & regulatory compliance.• Oversees department data management including product trending, stability & OOS.• Reviews & approves trended OOS events in quarterly reports. • Reviews & approves OOS investigation results & recommends further action as needed.• Leads cross-functional teams to solve product or product specification related issues.• Participates in product core teams.• Participates in Material Review Board evaluations & other quality management teams.• Coordinates efforts with R&D for new product transfer & QC specifications.• Maintain laboratories, working areas, and equipment; ensure equipment and instrument repairs, calibrations, and maintenance activities are scheduled as needed.
