C.Y.S is a Leadership Programme for young people that aims to help them run their own campaigns for systemic change. I began to work on starting a local Wolverhampton Young Friends of the Earth group. This programme pairs you up with experienced campaign mentors from similar backgrounds. My mentor supported me through the campaign. There were also organised skill-up sessions on a range of topics which allowed us to share stories for change. Intersectionality, collective care, and international solidarity were at the heart of this programme and I learnt a lot whilst participating.

Whilst working at ARC Hospitality, I worked at many different venues, events, and festivals. For example, I was often bar staff at the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton during football matches. - Greeted customers and created a welcoming atmosphere- Used a till to take orders and payments and handled cash- Served drinks at the bar or at the table- Kept the bar clean and well stocked- Gave advice on drinks to suit customers' tastes- Collect glasses and did wash up

The Green New Deal Rising Leadership Programme is a fully funded training programme for 40 people aged 18-30 from 10 places around the UK. The Programme built my skills and leadership, and helped me to kickstart Green New Deal campaigning in my community. I took part in two intensive training weekends with some of the UK’s leading campaigners, had opportunities to plan and take action with other young people in my area and around the country, and got support and resources to get started leading the charge in my community. The Leadership Programme ran from June to November 2022. By the end of the Programme I had the skills, confidence and direct experience of campaigning and organising to become a leader in the fight for a Green New Deal.
