I helped this vibrant religious community start a high school youth group, supporting the spiritual growth of high school aged folks-- and had lots of fun.

Living on dorm with my family, I was part of a team of adults who worked to build community and maintain safety for a girls dormitory of 70 students. Study hall supervision, educational program planning, event planning, student leadership supervision, and pastoral engagement with students.

I managed, cultivated, and taught on a 2 acre educational farm at Westtown School. I worked both hands-on with the earth and students, and with teachers as they sought to integrate ecological principles into their curricula. I came to Pendle Hill as an activist seeking space to explore non-violence training in area prisons and bio-intensive gardening, as part of a spiritual community commited to a shared vision of contemplation, action, and mutual support. I lived at Pendle Hill for a year, and continued to work there through early 2003, at the very fine bookstore specializing in spiritual and religious texts.

I worked at Renewal House, a domestic violence shelter in Boston that is part of the UU Urban Ministry program, as part of my Master of Divinity training. Women's empowerment group facilitation, hotline staffing, preaching, resource guide research, and shelter staffing were part of this position.
