This role allowed me to share what I’ve learned at Cornell with other team members while gaining hands-on experience in the greenhouse.I was asked to create and implement a new fertilizer program. To do this I calculated fertilizer recipes for the concentrated stock tanks and communicated with regional venders to insure the availability of the fertilizers I selected. I was also responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases and, nutrient deficiencies, creating a scouting plan and working closely with the IPM team, repairing irrigation systems, predicting plant physiology and growth responses, and to appropriately manipulating environmental factors with HortiMax to affect plant growth, including heating, cooling, lighting, and humidity demands.
