I lead evaluation work, policy research projects, and other efforts related to collecting and synthesizing information with the ultimate goal of furthering transformational change in the mental health system of California.My work evaluating the Innovation Incubator initiative revealed the importance of collaboration, setting expectations, carving out dedicated time and resources, and having a mechanism for elevating and disseminating best practices and lessons learned.My work leading the Impacts of Firearm Violence project is underscoring the great need for multi-disciplinary and cross-sector collaboration in solving broad, cultural problems. Findings are also highlighting the value of looking upstream, focusing on the prevention and early intervention of mental health challenges before they develop into a diagnosis or a negative outcome.My continuing work is shaped by these insights, leading me to intentionally build connections, use active listening, foster meaningful community engagement, and critically examining the assumptions upon which our current systems and structures are built.

I have worked with a variety of clients to create and administer surveys intended to measure customer and employee satisfaction, gauge interest for a product or service, and conduct research on a range of topics. I have written over 100 pieces on well-being, resilience, strengths, coping, mindfulness and other positive psychology topics for the Positive Psychology Program website.

In my position with OSHPD, I worked to answer research questions and discover insights about the healthcare workforce in California.My projects included developing an updated methodology for designating healthcare shortage areas, participating in the scoring and peer review process for grant programs and funding requests, and working with vast databases of healthcare-related data.

As a researcher for the California Public Employees Retirement System, I led research projects on improving the effectiveness of the Business Intelligence program, enhancing the communication and education opportunities for California's public sector workforce, and managing and disseminating useful, high-quality data to stakeholders across the country.

My responsibilities included compiling and organizing several positive psychology related academic databases; coding positive psychology research articles in order to report on the state of positive psychology research, positive organizational psychology research, and measures in positive psychology; analyzing the data and interpreting findings from these projects; writing and editing articles for submission to peer-reviewed academic journals; assisting in updating and maintaining website content for all Claremont Evaluation Center (CEC) research labs; and assisting other lab members and professionals as necessary.

Conducted diagnostic workshop and informational interviews with staff and key stakeholders to identify appropriate resources, challenges, and action plans to help Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of San Bernardino County, a local non-profit organization, succeed in opening a new location, implementing organizational development model that draws from SWOT analysis, the positive model of planned change, and process consultation.

In this position, I engaged in all phases of the evaluation process, including: meeting with PIs, collecting relevant data, coding and cleaning data, analyzing data thematically by applying qualitative analysis techniques, managing online survey campaigns, using descriptive and inferential statistics, writing and updating evaluation reports and briefs, synthesizing findings and making evidence-based recommendations for program improvement, and creating evaluation forms and surveys.I contributed to over two dozen evaluation projects and produced numerous reports, most involving educational programs funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or the National Science Foundation (NSF).

In this team consulting project, I worked with a CGU team partnering with Exel, a logistics and supply chain company, to explore safety culture and reduce safety incidents in their warehouses. For this project we conducted informational interviews and a diagnostic workshop with employees with varying levels of experience at the company.
