In this role, I was a paid professional at throwing 9 1⁄4 inches (circumference)/5 1/4 ounces of rubber, yarn, and leather 60 ft. 6 in. consistently through a pentagonal prism over home plate otherwise known as the strike zone. If the velocity of this ball of rubber, yarn, and leather doesn't exceed 90 mph and is without the company of 2 additional, what they call in the industry, plus pitches...it's early retirement, which is just a fancy way of saying you're not good enough.
