I primarily worked on the planning and implementation of a large project with the goal of doubling the production of a manufacturing line while simultaneously minimizing costs. I focused on implementing 3 separate pull-system flow lines, eliminating non-value add activities, optimizing workorder quantity, and minimizing rework to accomplish this goal. I was able to more than double the line’s production while cutting the cycle-time in half. The plan additionally involved only a 60% increase in labor and cut significant costs in inventory. I additionally helped to implement the plan shortly before my internship ended.
