Welcome to my profile :) I am a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minho with an FCT scholarship and an Invited Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic of Cávado and Ave. I completed Integrated Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2019 at the University of Minho, where I acquired multidisciplinary skills related to electronics, informatics, biomechanics, and physiology. During the final year of my master's, I worked as a Visiting Researcher at Marsi Bionics (Spain) where I experienced the work routine of a growing spin-off company and had the opportunity to work closely with gold standard gait analysis equipment. During my master's thesis and afterwards, while working as a Research Fellow for an R&D project, I developed an in-depth knowledge of scientific and technological production on robotics, biofeedback, gait rehabilitation, exoskeletons, and stroke. Now, during the PhD, I'm working closely on the development of augmented reality and virtual reality serious games that integrate inertial motion capture and electromyography data for healthcare purposes. In parallel, I mentor master's students, teach lectures, disseminate the results of my research through oral presentations at conferences, and take part in workshops and competitions that promote the development of transversal skills. In the future, I would like to develop robotic solutions for neurorehabilitation. I aim to contribute to the technological evolution of society, using teamwork, a positive attitude, persistence, a methodical approach, and willingness to learn.
