Chris has held positions in teaching, coaching, writing and business environments. Chris Palmquist is a USAT Elite LIII, Youth/Junior and USAC L1 Coach. Chris combines 33 years of competitive endurance sports and 21 years of coaching to work effectively with athletes from beginner to world class. She is a USA Paratriathlon Coach and Head Coach at Cloud 10 Multisport, Inc. She is the Head Coach of the MMTT Youth Development Triathlon Team - with numerous individual National Titles and Team National Championships. Chris was a Team USA Paratriathlon Coach at the Rio 2016 Paralympics and has coached at ITU World Paratriathlon World Series and World Cup races around the world. She has coached High Performance Paratriathlon camps for the USAT National Team and developmental camps for CAF and Dare2Tri. Chris has been a staff coach for USAT Junior Skills Camps for five years. Her coaching philosophy is based on trust, communication, balance, effective training and strong partnerships with each athlete. Degrees include a BA/MBA (Cornell) and an MS (Northwestern). She has ten years of experience designing and leading power based cycling training in a group setting. She is a Contributing Editor to Chicago Athlete Magazine, has published articles in other endurance sport magazines and has collaborated with other coaches on two books, the USAT Coaching Education Manuals and a guide to introducing young athletes to endurance sports.Chris has an active family with two children. She knows how to balance family and work with strong athletic goals and results. Her coaching philosophy is based on trust, communication, balance, efficient training plans and long-term enjoyment of training and racing.
