I am currently working as a Chief Solutions Architect in Matchstick Men Hub Ltd. My responsibilities include architecting and leading the development of web based applications and systems. In addition to pure technical responsibilities, I am becoming increasingly involved in leading and managing company projects from a web development perspective, utilising the Agile Management Framework.Prior to my current role, I was a professional academic and researcher for over 13 years of my career, conducting research as part of major EU funded projects and teaching both post- and under-graduate levels in the field of Computer Science. As both my research and teaching were very in a practical field, I also gained extensive hands on experience in software design and development as well as in team leading and management.During my previous and current jobs, I have developed my leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, which has enabled me to progress across a number of different roles with increasing responsibilities both in academia and the private sector. This in turn has equipped me to be flexible, adapt to changing targets and deliver against tight and demanding deadlines. My work ethic and tangible results have made me well respected among peers and students alike and sought after for advice and supervision. On top of my allocated responsibilities, I have always been involved in volunteering and social activities within my work environment. In my previous roles, I had played a key role in reinvigorating the Salford Computing Society and establishing a very successful Student Peer Mentoring Scheme.Throughout my career I have enjoyed planning for and delivering towards project deadlines; as well as managing and mentoring students and colleagues to successfully achieve their targets.
