Paul is the founder of Major & Company, Inc., a forestry and real estate services company based in Newberry, South Carolina. He is a 1973 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. Paul has been a professional forestry consultant since 1985 and worked for eleven years prior to that with the forest industry. He is a Registered Forester in North and South Carolina and is also licensed as a South Carolina Real Estate Broker and as a South Carolina Certified General Real Estate Appraiser - a designation few foresters possess. Paul earned the "ACF" designation of the Association of Consulting Foresters (ACF) in 1991 and has served as the Chairman of the South Carolina Chapter of the ACF. He has also received the designation of "Certified Forester" by the Society of American Foresters (SAF). Paul holds or has held membership in a number of other professional organizations, including the South Carolina Forestry Association; Foresters Council of South Carolina (1998-2001); Forest Landowners Association, Inc.; and landowner associations in Newberry, Saluda, and Union Counties of South Carolina.
