Process Development, Implementation & Improvement Lead
Arcelormittal Steel
Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area
Principal role is to enhance reliability of equipment, people, processes and communications throughout the Waste Water Treatment (WWT) plants at ArcelorMittal Steel. This is accomplished by understanding team and department dynamics, bottlenecks, and desired outcome, then reshaping the system into a continuous improvement 360° PDCA process. By modifying the systems identified below and facilitating deployment strategies, process improvement changes have encompassed real-time, standardized operational outcome and team contribution.- Work Order & Weekly Planning & Scheduling System: Designed to encourage transparency, cross-functional collaboration, and critical work activities- Preventive Maintenance System: Created Indicator & Scheduled Routes via Ivara EXP CMM system (now Bentley APM) which is inclusive of World Class Manufacturing Events- Measurement of PM, Planning & Scheduling Success: Created reporting and analysis diagrams denoting activity results vs. KPI standards thus strengthened the implementation of Corrective/ Preventive Action initiatives through follow-up - Standard Operating Procedures: Redesigning layout and content, inclusive of team input, to effectively display what we doAs a result of supporting and partnering with the WWT Plant Leadership in the development, and execution of the above stated new and/or modified processes and analysis, the activities ultimately have led to the understanding of establishing realistic departmental KPI’s, thus creating a pathway aligning with company KPI’s.Through a structured based concerted method of approach within process areas and accompanying resources, high level collaboration with PDCA process owners and downstream resources promoted development of a strong compliance, focused foundation that leads and has led to successful gap closure, all of which is critical to the imminent cross functional deployment of PDCA process to all WWT sites.
