The Mission of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Social Services Department is to work in cooperation with families, community members, and service providers to promote, preserve and strengthen families, and keep children safe.

The Tribal Court Probation Officer, under the general direction of the Chief Judge, Associate Judge, or Court administrator, conducts investigations and prepares informational reports in order to assist the presiding judge in determining appropriate sentences and dispositions of individuals brought before the Court. The Probation Officer shall supervise the probationer during the term of probation and may recommend relevant programs for rehabilitation.The Probation Officer also acts as a case manager by referring probationers to qualified treatment personnel, vocational, or educational counselors, and other resources in the tribal community. The Probation Officer is a community resource manager with knowledge of agencies and resources available within the tribal community and surrounding non-native community. Responsible for greeting and offering assistance to customers as needed. The Sales Associate assists in the execution of merchandising and operational functions to Company Standards within sales floor areas where assigned.

My responsibilities included maintaining the Accreditation file system, compiling and revising Police Manuals and Task Folders, Assist in organizing files and other records management tasks as directed. Maintained training records of employees, participated in training exercises with K9 Unit, staff Reception Area, participating in a police ride-along, assisting officers at special events, and other tasks as directed by Commissioner, Chief, or Captain of the Department.

Team Members need to implement all the standard operational procedures of the company and make sure that every customer receives the best customer service possible. Major responsibilities include taking orders, serving food, cleaning the dining area and other work stations and ensuring the total cleanliness of the workplace. Team Members must also make sure that the food that’s being served is always fresh and has undergone the proper food handling procedure.

Assist with court staffing and court sessions. Clerical duties. Assist with data entry and record keeping. Conduct criminal record checks. Attend court sessions with other members of the Drug Court Treatment Team (Chief Judge, Associate Judge, Substance Abuse Provider, Tribal Prosecutor).
