HPD / Wirth Research developed a brand new LMP1 chassis for competition in 2009 and beyond, and this role involved chassis and vehicle characterization of the new vehicle, as well as vehicle dynamics development. Tasks included pre-season development of all new ARX-02a LeMans Prototype. 6 and 7 post rig tests, CoG and K&C tests. Software development using CarSim and Aerolap Lap Simulation. In-season performance development and data analysis.Acura's withdrawl from ALMS at the end of 2009 marked the premature end of the ARX-02a LMP1 factory program.

Acura's LMP2 efforts required significant development activity and in-season technical progress to maintain pace with the LMP2 Porsche teams as well as occasionally with the Audi LMP1 team. This role was overall development across teams, focusing on simulation and integration from the engine side, but also branching into performance analysis including timing & scoring analysis, simulation program development, and data analysis.

This role was tasked with initial development work in simulation to set design criteria for engine and chassis. After the successful debut of the car (winning the class at the 12 hours of Sebring and 2nd place overall), continued support of the car included Lap Simulation, Engine and drivetrain calibration, and trackside testing.This role also involved other projects including HGT Japan liaison with the Japan F1 group, including multiple trips for circuit testing support of prototypes in Japan.
