I formalized CPJ Consulting as a company a year or so ago but I have been in the business since the 90's. The odd consulting gig in human resources, equity, business planning, organizational change, public speaking engagements would pop up now and again as an opportunity to play outside my regular work environment so I would take them on.I realized my chance to establish myself in a remote working environment was right under my nose - CPJ could take on contracts anywhere in the world. Practicing what I preach, I spent 2.5 months in rural Panama. I expanded my international marketing skill set on a work exchange at Villa Astoria. I provided social media and marketing strategy, customer service improvements and organizational skills. In exchange, I enjoyed a room and the opportunity to learn Spanish, explore the country, and meet new friends.Continuing to gain remote work contracts and earning an income while traveling are my current goals. A house sitting gig in Bordeaux France in April 2015 also contributed to further developing my blogging expertise and website development and renovation skills.At home in Canada, I have found a niche in retail marketing that I am exploring. Immersing myself in the business by working the "front lines" has allowed me to gain a powerful perspective from both the entrepreneur and the customer.
