Het Maastricht-LAB is in 2012 opgericht om een nieuwe impuls te geven aan de stedelijke (her)ontwikkeling van Maastricht. Dit omdat de huidige structuren en instrumenten voor stedelijke opgaven niet meer voldoen aan de nieuwe werkelijkheid. We zijn gestart als proeftuin voor nieuwe stadsontwikkeling, waarbij acht vraagstukken en projecten als experiment zijn opgepakt. Deze experimenten zijn destijds door de gemeente geïnitieerd.Het Maastricht-LAB gaat door als cocreatief ontwikkelplatform, waarbij vernieuwende projecten en vraagstukken worden opgepakt. Onze zoektocht wordt echter ambitieuzer dan voorheen: we gaan nog nadrukkelijker op zoek naar de energie in de stad. Naar mensen die anders naar de stad kijken, mensen die de kansen maar ook de opgaven zien en met concrete projecten een impuls kunnen geven aan de ontwikkeling van Maastricht. Het Maastricht-LAB wil deze structurele voedingsbodem voor vernieuwing creëren, door behalve een experimenteerruimte ook een platform voor verbinding te bieden.

Het Laagland uit Sittard-Geleen is een van de negen grotere jeugdtheatergezelschappen van Nederland en maakt deel uit van de basisinfrastructuur voor het Nederlandse theater. Het Laagland is dé jeugdtheatervoorziening van Limburg die in eigen huis en op locatie, op regionale en (inter)nationale podia een breed publiek verrast en verrijkt met eigenzinnig kwaliteitstheater dat kinderen serieus neemt, jongeren prikkelt en volwassenen ontroert.

BIKINI BERLIN is one of the few still preserved contemporary witnesses of Berlin’s turbulent history during the post-war period of the 1950s. The “Zentrum am Zoo” ensemble, which was completed in 1957 by architects Paul Schwebes and Hans Schoszberger, is a symbol of Berlin City-West’s cityscape.The basic concept of BIKINI BERLIN is a unique combination of shopping, working, cinema, recreation, urban oasis and hotel.The centrepiece of the group of buildings is the Bikinihaus with a total length of 200 metres. The lower three floors of the Bikinihaus are home to retail and gastronomy offers. The third to sixth upper floors house exclusive office spaces. The highlight of the BIKINI BERLIN building complex is the 7000 m² freely accessible green rooftop terrace, on a two-storey new build behind the Bikinihaus, facing the Zoological Garden, Germany’s oldest and best known zoo. Below this is a large marketplace, the BIKINI BERLIN POOL. The focus here is a panoramic window with spectacular views of the monkey enclosure in the Zoological Garden.The architectural highlights, like the rooftop terrace behind the Bikinihaus with views of the Zoological Garden, and the large hall below the rooftop terrace, the so-called BIKINI BERLIN POOL, offer space for new ideas and trends. Here, visitors will find a unique marketplace with twenty stationary pop-up stores, the BIKINI BERLIN BOXES, which can be rented for up to one year. Variety is therefore guaranteed. The BIKINI BERLIN POOL also includes a large event space for special events or exhibitions. The innovative shopping concept of BIKINI BERLIN ensures constant flux, remaining surprising and flexible and inspiring exciting dialogue.My part: concept creation, curatorship, lease responsibility and passion!
