During my time at Spectrum I developed the business from a very small provider of fixed line and mobile solutions into a modern communications VAR. During this time I increased revenues by +400% and improved profitability by over 500%.To achieve the transformation required athe formation of new business plan, a complete re-engineering of the end to end business systems and processes, extensive staff skill development whilst also developing a support network to support the introduction of new products and services such as; MPLS/VPLS and Ethernet Data Networks, Hosted Voice services, fully resilient SIP solutions, Cloud Services and Professional Services.In addition to the legal, commercial and operational business development activities, I enjoyed being very hands on developing our engineering skills and problem solving capabilities. I also spent a significant proportion of my time engaged with key clients designing and developing their communications strategies and our product offerings.

Burton-On-Trent

Following the sale of Central Telecom to Vodafone I took on responsibility for Technical sales support incorporating all the Design Teams within Vodafone Unified Communications Group. This business unit comprised of teams of Systems and Solution Engineers as well as Solution Architects operating across a multitude of manufacturers products such as Microsoft, Avaya, Cisco, Siemens and Mitel. Our function was to support sales with; auditing and defining requirements, developing and defining customer strategies and to validate, authorize and price complex designs for IPPBX, Call Centre, Contact Centre, Mobility, Voice and data network infrastructure and supporting business application services. Typical solutions ranged in size from £100k point solutions to £5M+ enterprise migration strategies. My role was to manage & develop the Team, our workload and capabilities, accreditations, legal compliance, business processes and manage any complex technical or commercial considerations.

Over the same period developed new business channels and solutions offerings into new markets. I also instigated and managed the successful overhauling Central’s complete IT infrastructure and operations, and over time I have recruited, developed and placed most of the key staff within the organization’s services arm.
