  Why after working a full-time job do I drive 220 miles round trip every weekend? There are several reasons: • The opportunity to ride • The opportunity to teach and share my passion for the high altitude mountain environment and the sport that I discovered • Simply, to share my stoke!In sum, it is the excitement, the challenges, the spontaneous and fluid opportunities to have a positive influence in the lives others.Looking out at the mountain, I see: • A majority of people who are self-taught and who lack solid foundational technique. • More importantly, these same folks being self-taught lack a sense of how they as riders contribute to the safety of those around them.The most rewarding aspect of coaching is working with new riders to develop these skills.This training sets them apart: • First, it distinguishes them as riders competent in the use of their equipment • Secondly, and more importantly, they are now active participants, promoting a safe environment in which to play our game.
