As a Disaster Assistance Manager, with the NYS DHSES Disaster Recovery Public Assistance team, I assist in the management of public assistance grants for partners and stakeholders following disasters. This requires a knowledge of the PAPPG, disaster specific policies, and the processes for PA-Recovery with FEMA. I manage a team of staff overseeing the administrative aspects of PA-Recovery for various disasters, including NYS DR-4480 (COVID), and manage the activities and work needed to ensure all Applicants receive every dime they are eligible to receive.As an Emergency Planner at the NYS Office of Emergency Management (OEM), I was responsible for providing subject matter expert review and advice on emergency management and continuity of operations plans to local and state partners. I had almost seven years of experience in this role, and I hold a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Homeland Security Resource Allocation, along with a CBCP certification.I have developed, edited, and updated various NYS emergency plans, including Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans (CEMP) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP). I am proficient in VBA Excel and Adobe PDF Forms Javascript, which I used to create tools and templates to assist in the plan development and creation process. I also support emergency operations during times of emergency from the State Emergency Operations Center, field offices, and county and local Emergency Operations Centers.My goal is to further my career in emergency management, and potentially broaden my horizons with a focus on business continuity or healthcare emergency management.
