I started my professional career early in life, eventually becoming co-owner of a local body shop. After years of successful work in the industry, I sold my share of the company and decided to set out on a new adventure. At the end of the day, my personal and professional life involves people, and I love people. The complications, intricacies, personalities, and differences. I’m fascinated with the ever-changing dynamics of friendship and relationships; both personal and professional.Lately, I’ve been studying cybersecurity through Google. It’s a fascinating fit, coming from my business background where, back in the 90’s, I voluntarily took the role of “network engineer”. From building the server and workstations, to configuring firewalls and routers, to using HTML to build web pages. I often found vulnerabilities and ways to patch them up (even with other websites). I did this for about 20 years both as an employee of the company, then continuing as owner. It was part of my job as a business owner to stay on top of emerging trends in networking, security, configuration, and a lot of, “Craig, this won’t work!”In that past life a few years ago, I was working with about 1,100 customers a year, face to face. I enjoyed hearing as much of everyone’s story as I could, their joys and struggles. I like to find common ground and get along with everyone. It’s not a challenge, it’s my personality. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping people navigate difficult situations and overcome obstacles to realize a goal they might not have otherwise thought possible. There’s a real person behind this profile too! It’s not uncommon to see me: skiing, mountain biking, pushing iron at the gym, custom engraving with my fiber laser, writing books, re-modeling a home, playing bass guitar, working on cars, or spending time in the mountains.I have developed valuable skills over a lifetime of providing personal and professional service not only to team members and clients, but family, friends, and acquaintances. I treat others exactly as I would like to be treated; except sometimes in traffic, when the light is green and the person in front is texting on their phone.
