In an interim role alongside my planning policy work, I assisted the Head of Strategic Housing and Delivery with housing enabling tasks including:- Assessing major planning applications in relation to affordable housing policy requirementsand providing consultation responses setting out a recommendedaffordable housing mix (including tenure, size and housing typology), taking into accountevidence of local housing need and projected affordable housing supply.- Researching extant permissions and s106 Agreements to compile a database of housing sites providing a pipeline of future affordable housing supply, including off-site contributions.- Proactively engaging a Registered Provider regarding the potential for development or landdisposal of a number of small sites including garage sites.- Identifying sites in Torbay with the potential for development for affordable housing.

Processing and assessing planning applications and providing recommendations to the planning committee and delegated decision makers.

Research Fellow with African Centre for Cities on the MISTRA Urban Futures programme, focusing on affordable housing delivery and Transit-Oriented Development.

Supervisor for a dissertation submitted as part of the Masters in City and Regional Planning at the Planning School. The student's dissertation comprised a Local Spatial Development Framework focused on implementing Transit-Oriented Development in the Bellville area of Cape Town.

Case officer tasked with processing land use applications (departures, consents, subdivisions, rezonings, deletion/amendment of restrictive title deed conditions) in the Southern District of the City of Cape Town in accordance with planning legislation.

Conducted research for the Economic Areas Management Programme. Used online business directories to map trends in the location of businesses within the Cape Town metropolitan area.

Taught Geography to Grades 8 to 12 (ages 13 to 18), acted as the Subject Head for Junior Geography (Grades 8 and 9), managed the First Cricket Team, coached Under 14 Rugby.

Researched and summarized legislation regarding retirement developments.
