Retained in 2011 to lead new generation Claim Service Center consolidating company’s FNOL processes and call center operations, as well as all telephone claim handling operations for 1st and 3rd party personal/commercial auto, trucking and inland marine claims, homeowner, commercial, and agricultural property claims. Included consolidation of all MP/PIP, total loss, subrogation/salvage recovery teams. Service center and virtual work environments. Realigning departments and teams in conjunction with new claim philosophy and structure; hired key management team personnel to affect mission change; established new goals, workflows, quality expectations with audit functions, vendor on boarding and management, litigation management and reserving standards. Results included affected change and process improvements that impacted significant lift in quality/indemnity scoring across all teams, reduction in ancillary costs at or below industry standards; lift in customer service/NPS results from mid 80s to best in class 95% satisfaction; elevated sub/sal recoveries from 19% to 27%. Vendor contracts development and management with several key business partners. -

Held multiple management roles during my tenure. •Regional Subrogation Manager - Retained in 2002 to lead the Farmers Subrogation operation out of Moreno Valley, CA. and Phoenix, AZ. Responsible for auto physical damage, med pay/PIP, and uninsured motorist recovery efforts in the nine western states. $170 million recovery operation with 125 staff. Grew recoveries from 18% recovery ratio to 24% in two years. Implemented technology based subrogation recovery software “SubroSource” and CUBE reporting function. Brought in new vendor partners with integrated vendor management strategies. •Claim Service Center Manager, Los Angeles, CA - relocated in 2005 to take over Los Angeles Claim Service Center. Scope of responsibility included $21 million in annual liability indemnity exposure, with $29 million in annual auto physical damage paids in the greater Los Angeles area. 76 staff in a virtual and office environment focused on in-person field investigation and contacts. •Branch Claim Manager, Riverside, CA - relocated in 2007 to revitalize Casualty Branch Claim Office in Riverside, CA. Scope of responsibility included liability exposures in the south eastern region of California. 42 staff and $19 million in annual liability indemnity exposure. -
State Claim ManagerReliance Insurance 2000 - 2003CaliforniaReliance Personal Insurance was a California auto insurance start-up carrier in 1999, with 30 million in first year GWP. Retained as part of a three person team to lead and build from the ground up all aspects of an auto insurance claim operation mirrored on a Generalist claim handling model. Operation contained birth to grave claim handling, however the first year focused on building office infrastructures, including office space, staffing, computer and phone systems, company car programs, vendor partnerships, training, etc... All the while managing claim production, performance and results. A wonderful work experience, full of long hours and friendships that last to the current day. Ultimately, purchased by Bristol West where I completed some corporate analyst work on comparative negligence analytics and move the auto handling to greater specialization through he creation and management of of a Total Loss/Theft Division.
