I started my career as an apprentice for an electrical installation company in the West Midlands and it was at this company that I became a fully qualified electrician, working on numerous and varied projects throughout the country. I moved to London in 2002 to work for Meica Services as a Project Engineer. In 2007 I joined NG Bailey to work on a prestigious new office development in London, with an M&E element worth £40 million pounds. I was at NG Bailey for 7 years and within that time I was involved in a number of schemes, including the delivery of a school and completion of a high profile, 'fast track' enabling works project in London, as principal contractor. During my time at NG Bailey, I also gained extensive experience in bid management.I moved to Crown House Technologies in 2014 where I looked to further my experience and career. I worked as a Project Manager on a mixed used development in the Green Park area, consisting of 34 high end residential apartments, commercial and affordable housing.In 2016 I was given the opportunity to Project lead the delivery of a world class commercial development in the Paddington area with a MEP value of £24 million pounds. The new building is fifteen storeys plus ground floor with two levels of basement and two large roof terraces on level 14 and 16. The project completed in May 2019.In October 2019 I started a role as Electrical Project Leader reporting to the Operations leader, delivering the £85m MEP element of the complete re-imaging to the existing Whiteley shopping centre in London Bayswater. The project comprised of a Grade II listed façade which was retained and restored, the redevelopment includes 139 world-class modern residences, 20 new shops, cafés and restaurants, a central public courtyard, a cinema, a gym and London’s flagship Six Senses hotel and spa.In October 2023 I joined Kier in a different role to what I am used to, as Building Services Manager, but one that I am thoroughly enjoying. I am currently working on a Derwent London development, the Network Building. Here, l lead the project MEP project aspirations, through engagement with the Client team and Supply Chain, including working through WELL, BREEAM, LEED, WiredScore, SmartScore and NABERS requirements. This new building has been designed as highly sustainable and flexible that can offer offices or laboratories tailored to life sciences research, the building also provides an improved public realm at the ground level with active frontages for new retail and a street-facing lounge.
