Provide leadership, support and expert technical guidance to the Infrastructure Planning, Design and Delivery Branch to achieve the branch’s plans, goals and projects with an emphasis on service delivery and productivity.Manage delivery of effective strategic and operational civil engineering services utilising internal and external resources to deliver a broad range of predominately civil engineering infrastructure design and construction projects and transport and traffic management activities. The coverage of services includes technical investigations, conceptual planning and civil design, survey, traffic and transport engineering and project delivery.To ensure that the community is provided with infrastructure that is well designed, fit for purpose, aligns with Noosa Design Principles and relevant legislation and standards.

Provide leadership to the Design services team and provide direction on matters such as work, priorities, procedures and methods. Coordinate the delivery of designs for Council’s construction projects so they are produced on, time quality and on budget, and are technically accurate, cost effective and meet Councils’ corporate goals.

In my role as Manager Design and Contracts Superintendence with the City of Mitcham I was responsible for managing the delivery of Council’s annual asset renewal programs worth over $7M. The Design and Contracts Superintendence section consists of 4 staff who project manage the design and delivery of over $7M in annual assets renewal programs.Responsibilites:Coordinate and undertake engineering investigations and assessment with respect to roads, kerbing, stormwater drainage, footpaths, bridges and other associated infrastructure.Provide technical reports on civil infrastructure to the Director and to Council.Prepare design briefs, survey briefs and specifications for the outsourcing of design and survey work to specialist consultants.Establish survey and design job priorities of works schedules such that each year’s Capital Works program can be constructed in a timely manner.Prepare budget estimates (in conjunction with the Manager Infrastructure Asset Planning) for renewal and new infrastructure assets.Develop a Stormwater Master Plan including the securing by way of easement the existing stormwater network on private property.Provide contract superintending services for contracted infrastructure works in accordance with AS 2124/4000.Supervise the conduct of superintendents’ representatives on contracted infrastructure works.
