I have spent my career in various positions within manufacturing with the majority of the time as an Instrument, Controls, and Electrical (I, C, & E) Technician. I have also worked as a Lead Technician supervising a team of maintenance employees, worked many major process startups, served as a construction manager for an engineering firm, and worked as an (I, C, & E) designer. Each of these roles has furthered developed my natural instinct to diagnose process and equipment problems, understand how to make processes more efficient, and ultimately, produce the best product for a company. My basic belief is that a good controls technician should know and understand every aspect of the process in order to be effective. When I am presented with a problem, my first step is to understand all aspects of the process; from the people, to the materials being manufactured, and the equipment being used to make the product. My troubleshooting methods are logical and systematic. My colleagues view me as an “out- of- the- box” thinker. I am able to establish rapport with a wide range of diverse and cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance.
