I am specifically responsible for the sustainment and development of technical capabilities, standards and practice, as well as for the health of technical regulatory compliance and accreditation.In Australia, we lead global technological and scientific advancements through collaboration with industry, academia and governments, solving complex problems at pace to deliver operational advantage and mission-critical capability to end-users.By combining technical expertise, deep domain knowledge and rigorous independent thinking, we support the acquisition, operation and sustainment of sovereign, mission-critical capabilities across the aerospace, land, maritime and cyber domains.We enhance objectivity and efficiency in Defence decision-making, with authorisation to act as a design authority independent of the original design owner. This authorisation covers aircraft structural integrity across all ADF aircraft types. We also maintain an ISO9001 accredited Engineering Management System for the development of engineering design and logistics management systems across a wide array of customer applications. As Chief Engineer, I oversee technical assurance to ensure we deliver high-quality solutions that are safe, fit for purpose and compliant.
