Working on the Civils Asset Management Framework (CAM) I managed design development and engineering assurance across the Slabtrack, Earthworks, Structures and Steelwork areas of work. I acted as Civils Construction CRE in the review and signoff of designs at GRIP4-5. During the construction planning phase I drafted WPP’s and ITP’s to support depot teams when required. I also acted as Temporary works Coordinator for the Slabtrack depot and specific projects.

Working within the Scotland Civils division as part of a small team supporting active and tender projects in their implementation of digital construction in compliance with BS16950, BIM Level 2 (where required) and company procedures. Current active projects include Sighthill M8 Footbridge and Tealing SSE substation.Key responsibilities● Draft and Implement BIM Execution Plans for individual projects● Review of design models and information to scope digital construction goals for the project● Input to Project Execution Plan for individual projects● Setup and Management of Common Data Environments● Setup and Manage Site data capture systems● Management of Technical Queries with the Client

The Project involves numerous interventions across the Aberdeen to Inverness Route including a new station and station upgrades. Also preparing scope for and pricing the next (East) section, 16 miles of double tracking works with associated Civils, Structures and Earthworks to facilitate this.Responsibilities include:Ensuring approved designs have sufficient and correct setting outinformationManagement of design deliverables through detailed design –monitoring of progress against key dates, securing approvals from the client and stakeholders, monitoring of scope and change against CRT, Review of deliverables prior to submission to client Contributing to Project Risk Register Review of designs at previous stage to inform scoping of detaileddesign and informing estimators pricing for target cost Identification and assessment of change and scope creep againstagreed deliverables and CRT Setup and day to day operation of project Document ManagementSystem (Projectwise & EB) Input to handback process discussions Project Lead on implementation of LEAN workflows / BIM tools Value engineering focusing on health & safety, cost, programmeand buildability where appropriate Technical review of site design queries prior to issue to designer

Duties included:Managing design packages for various disciplines and numerous design consultants including Earthworks, Roads, Structures, Ancillary Civils and Permanent Access points through detailed design to approval and closeout from Network Rail and/or Local Authorities.Liaising with Local Authorities on behalf of the BAM design team, discussing design approval and proposed site led changes to approved designs.Production of sketches/drawings using Autocad and hand sketchesDrafting and updating contractual documents including Technical Queries, Site Designers Instructions.Requesting and reviewing site surveys and information.
