AESSEAL are a multinational based in Rotherham who manufacture mechanical and component seals for pumping systems with an annual group turnover of over £140m. My role within AES requires me to work closely with a number of different teams within the business to ensure that both new products in development and existing product are accurately costed. In my role I also work closely with the manufacturing teams to identify, review and analyze all workshop associate costs to minimize cost wastage and improve the businesses profitability. In association with this I have developed and implemented reports to improve the businesses ability to both identify its overhead costs associated with the manufacturing activities of the business and implement margin reporting.My role requires me to work not only with the UK manufacturing arm of AES seal but with the various subsidiaries across the work including manufacturing sites in Asia and sales organizations across Europe. As part of Cooper Industries Finance Leadership program I was exposed to a variety of different financial roles including financial reporting, management accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable. I was regularly involved in a variety of tasks including daily sales reporting, cost review, preparation of month end reports, processing of employee expenses, manufacturing variance analysis and providing analysis on sales, costs and financial performance for senior management.
