Act as the focal point for guidance and support to managers/employees to comply with the Health & Safety legislation. Assist in the preparation, review and update the Council’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and guidance. Review, monitor and audit all accident investigation reports and ensure that all recommendations are implemented. Assist the Team Manager in the collection, analysis and evaluation of accident/occupational ill-health statistics for distribution to both internal/external stakeholders. Maintain the department’s safety event database. Ensure all data managed/produced is accurate. Co-ordinate administrative support to all areas of training including developing course materials, Training Calendar compilation and maintaining the Training Database. Devise/implement new electronic databases to improve efficiency in the recording of training, incident reporting and Council Risk Assessors. Undertake Generic/Display Screen Equipment Risk Assessments. Undertake workplace inspections of local work experience providers to ensure that the Health & Safety procedures are at a necessary standard and provide advice to enhance standards. Compile bulletins/articles for publication on the local intranet and in-house publications covering a variety of subjects. Design and produce leaflets/booklets for use by managers/employees. Liaise with internal and external partners to process requests for information.
