About Craig Isom

I just began my retirement after nearly 20 years of serving businesses at Southern Utah University, after enjoying a second career in education and small business counseling. I had a 26.5 year career with Arthur Andersen. With Andersen I was an audit and small business consulting partner.I spent some time teaching accounting, auditing and entrepreneurship on the Southern Utah University campus. Before that I taught for a couple of years at San Jose State University as well.My real passion is the small business consulting I did as Executive Director, of the Southern Utah University Business Resource Center (BRC), and as Director of a program called “Accelerating Innovators” (AI). These programs brought together various of our "partners” to provide a one stop shopping experience for small businesses needing counseling and resources. The BRC & AI are part of the University's outreach and services to rural Utah.I served two four year terms on the Cedar City Council. We added broadband improvements and significant student housing and water source improvements during my service. We also made great strides is compensation of the City’s most critical asset - it’s people!
