I'm glad you're here, and interested in learning more about how I can be a good fit within your company. Here's a little taste of who I am as a professional and what I have done for my companies in the past -- don't hesitate to reach out and connect directly if you're interested in learning more!At my core as a Manager, I recognize that we're stronger together than in isolation. I understand the importance of trust and psychological safety for a team to be able to innovate and build high quality solutions, without fear of making mistakes. I am an advocate for my team, and I place a high priority on helping them succeed and advance in their own careers while still ensuring we meet our delivery expectations together. I always push myself and my team toward growth and improvement, while maintaining a balance of keeping the working environment positive, engaging, and enjoyable.I am a driven individual who thrives on quality and improvement of anything that I am involved with. I believe strongly that a team will perform well if they are treated well, they enjoy their work and their co-workers, and they can work on engaging and meaningful activities. I work hard to bring these things together on any team I am a part of.As a Software Development Manager at Article, I helped to build top quality software that not only delighted our customers by discussing their needs and delivering solutions to meet these needs, but also improving their KPIs (~ 15% improvement in OSA and DSI through use of the Foresight project), reducing spending (~ $0.7M savings with use of same Foresight project), and increasing ROI (through working on an integration forecasted to have an $8-10M ROI over 3 years, and improving Forecast accuracy by ~20%).Beyond my current vocation within Software Development Management, I have expertise in a wide breadth of domains within the industry including:- Hands-on Software Development and Tech Leading projects to ensure successful implementations and delivery goals were met with high quality results- Project Management (working with key stakeholders to define scope, estimates, and timelines for top customer projects such as Cricket Communications, and then successfully delivering on these requirements)- Quality Assurance Management, where I established automated testing and load testing practices to high-profile customers such as Jaguar/Land Rover, and managed hiring and mentoring a team of Automation Developers

Software Development ManagerArticle Nov 2021 - Feb 2024RemoteAs an Engineering Manager at Article, I was responsible for leading a team of software engineers as we designed and built an in-house planning solution that helped our Planners (ie: Internal Customers) to improve on their KPIs such as DSI and OSA by~15%, and increased efficiency of our spending by ~$0.7M. This was done in an Agile fashion, as we had continuous cycles of feature review and scoping with the Planners to ensure we met the most important deliverables at any given point in time, and with the goal of unlocking as much business value as we could as quickly as possible. As part of this role, I worked hard to build an environment of trust within the team, where each person knew they were safe to perform their best work. Through holding regular 1-1 meetings, having team "social jams", hosting bi-weekly "Open Q&A" sessions, and holding semi-annual "team improvement" meetings, I was able to foster a strong and Psychologically Safe environment, and could then more accurately coach each IC and the team as a whole through their true concerns and challenges.I work hard to make a positive impact on the company and team culture wherever I am, be that remote or otherwise, and while at Article was active on the social committee (the "Particle Board") as well as took on the role of key planner and executor for a Hackathon and a Tech-wide social. -
Software Development ManagerAppdirect Jun 2020 - Oct 2021Throughout my time as a Software Development Manager at AppDirect, I worked with a team on building out capabilities to support the sale of Physical Goods along with the SaaS offerings within our customized Storefronts. This experience let me transition from the previous management role within Quality Automation into one of true feature design and development. I developed skills in collaborating with Product Management and Designers to come up with the best features and User Experiences for our prospective customers, and then worked with the Developers to turn that scope into manageable tasks to implement and deliver. It was during this time that I started to build out automated tooling for capturing and reporting key developer metrics that I then used to support 1-1 discussions related to growth and improvement, and also to support performance evaluation decisions. -
Quality Assurance Group LeadAppdirect Oct 2016 - Jun 2020AppDevices, a division of AppDirect, provides app management, monetization and cloud service solutions for IoT, connected vehicles and smart devices. The AppDevices division, formerly AppCarousel, became part of AppDirect in 2015 through an acquisition. AppDevices has offices in Calgary and San Francisco and a global team to serve its worldwide customers. In this role as a Quality Assurance Manager, I led a team to build and maintain a custom test framework to support clean and low-risk code deployments to top tier customers such as Jaguar Land Rover. I also established load testing practices through JMeter which became part of our process to ensure stability of new solutions prior to launch. In addition, I supported the purchase and integration of a TestRail system, which allowed us to keep track of all test results and details over time, which equipped us to easily track trends as well as to dive into specific details of failures to help guide in the troubleshooting efforts. I hired and mentored a team of Software Developers focused on test automation, and was responsible for their performance evaluations and overall growth and development. -
