As the Polymers operations engineer on a top tier COMAH site managing safety, production and logistics involved with Polypropylene manufacturing.my current responsibilities include;• Provide daily leadership, guidance, and instruction to the shift operating team to ensure the production schedule is met with the correct volumes.• Develop and audit Operating Documentation i.e. OI's, Operating envelopes, workpacks, Toras, Oras, LOLC register.• Undertake Asset level 1 audits.• Active Member of site on call incident management team (IMT)• The point of Contact out of hours by shift teams to advise on breakages on plant or changes in instruction. Interventions made where appropriate to minimize losses in availability or time etc.• Determine the correct priorities have been set and understood by the maintenance and technical teams.• Plan and execute the quarterly shutdowns, ensure that the plant starts up safely and on time so as no disruption to logistics teams.• Manage plant Raw materials, ensuring adequate rotation of stock, ordering is completed in sufficient time, any QA issues are addressed / followed up through QA team.

My role includes me to be the asset operations engineer for a Jetty tank farm on a top tier COMAH site managing the safety, storage and logistics involved with toxic chemicals, pressurised LPG and refrigerated LPG storage.• Provide daily leadership, guidance, and instruction to the shift operating team.• Develop and audit Operating Documentation i.e. OI's, Operating envelopes.• Undertake Asset level 1 audits as per the Asset audit schedule• Determine the correct priorities have been set and understood by the maintenance and technical teams to ensure the shift operating team can achieve and deliver the Shipping and maintenance plans• Provide leadership/support to shift operating team when managing unplanned failures.• Lead and deliver significant projects.• Ensure that shift operating teams have adequate information and training relating to changes implemented on the plant. My role included typical process engineering tasks and operations support for a top tier COMAH site. In this role i was based on site, working within the Refinery Tankfarm. The work was driven by largely by the Buncefield incident and subsequent PSLG compliance requirements as well as a business requirement to sustain a constant volume of storage through tank refurbishment or new build work.My responsibility's included;-Project definition and development-Interfacing with different operating units and business leaders to highlight required operation parameters for safe tankfarm operation.-Pipework Over-pressureisation protection system design and modification-Vessel Relief design and review-Fluid hydraulics model creation -Preparation of plant modifications -Operation Support to help solve/remediate operations type problems for example product quality issues.-Participating in Hazard studies, LOPA’s-Developed and implemented project folder and project procedure systems for the use of ~100 engineers-Planned, supervised and developed summer placement students.
