I have committed 25 years with SAPREF oil refinery which has helped my personal development too where I am today and for that I am truly grateful. I have developed others from a trainee Intern to a console operator to a potential Team Leader. The past 2 years I have helped align people with their training plans, tracking and reporting on their progress, focusing on their competence gaps with committed plans to close out. Set up discussions and follow-ups on training needs. I have developed slide packs and training material for staff awareness. I have updated training material specific to the Crude Distiller, Hydro-cracking and Base-Oil plant. My facilitating capabilities has helped me align all training sessions with respective SME’s and ensured that the learning environment was suitable, objectives were met. Prior to retrenchment I joined the HSSE team to facilitate the SAPREF Permit Receivers Training as well as environmental responsibilities. The Ability to issue permits and ensure equipment is safe for work to be executed brings all the knowledge and skills and complete the circle. My role as a Production Team leader has empowered me to manage a shift team ensuring that staffing requirements are met with a full complement, Managing Leave/sick leave, overtime and people issues, disciplinary procedures. Aligning staff with the business objectives. Ensuring safe production, protecting people from the process. High focus on product quality and set the next shift up for success. Dealing with emergencies such as gas leaks, fire’s, spills and equipment failures. Great knowledge and skills of EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT. Assist in investigations, problem solving, continuous improvement on procedures and best practices. Prepare equipment for maintenance. Safely Shutdown and start-up of the plant. Ensure housekeeping is maintained daily. Ordering of Chemicals and PPE within a budget.I played a crucial role in Production and Day to day activities, problem solving/assurance checks, contributing and reporting on HSSE stats/audits and walks.
