Managing a corporate group consisting of: Subsea Projects, Well Control Recertification and API S53 Compliance & Stack Building. Facilitate successful subsea scopes for the Upgrade and Repairs Project Group through various interactions with project teams with all subsea project engineers reporting functionally. The Subsea Projects group monitors each project through planning and execution looking for opportunities to create success in projects. The Recertification Group advises on, monitors and tracks recertification of the Fleet. The API S53 team advises on compliance and executes compliant new stack builds. Additionally I am drawn on to guide rig asset strategy particularly during project stage gate executive reviews.

Executed an emergency project on the Deepwater Expedition after the rig suffered several periods of extended downtime. The role included significant customer and executive interaction in addition to equipment scopes and crew mentoring.

Project scope lead for Subsea and drilling equipment scopes on the Transocean Amirante, a conventionally anchored semi submersible, during shipyard period in Pascagoula Mississippi. Major responsibilities included, but not limited to: pod overhauls; installation of deadman Autoshear system and related controls; LMRP test valve installation; subsea maintenance items; BJ pipe racker overhaul; crown and travelling block overhauls; BOP guidance overhaul; BOP bridge crane overhaul; Palfinger crane installations. Project and operational supervision of the Henry Goodrich, a harsh environment semi submersible, operating offshore Newfoundland. Responsible for subsea systems upgrade and overhaul during wet upgrade to 5000’ water depth capability. Major responsibilities included, but not limited to: new riser string; controls system upgrade; pod overhauls; pod winch/hose upgrade; complete rebuild of LMRP including installation of new rigid conduit manifold and associated controls; surface control equipment modifications to accommodate new RCM. Project supervision of subsea scopes on Sovereign Explorer, a conventionally anchored semi submersible, operating in Trinidad. Responsible for subsea systems upgrade and overhaul during maintenance shut down of the vessel whilst alongside in Chaguaramas Trinidad. Major responsibilities included, but not limited to: level III OEM riser inspection of 47 joints of MR6 riser; Complete rebuild of LMRP including installation of new rigid conduit manifold and associated controls; BOP bonnet major overhaul by OEM; surface control equipment modifications to accommodate new RCM. Houston based project supervision on new build dynamically positioned semi submersible. Responsibilities included design, construction and Factory acceptance testing of complete deepwater Subsea package including BOP & control system, riser system and diverter system. Establish operational procedures for equipment installation to new rig. Followed by transfer to Singapore PPL shipyard for installation and commissioning of equipment manufactured in Houston. Position involved much interaction with vendors through assessing technical suitability, drawing/schematic review, production and production schedules, testing and commissioning. Initially Houston based project supervision of design, construction and factory acceptance testing of deepwater subsea BOP & control system. Followed by rig-based position in Angola, Congo, South Africa and Brazil. Duties including operational and maintenance responsibility for BOP & Control System and training of Assistant Sub Sea Engineers. Budgetary planning and monitoring as well as stock level ordering. This period involved 2 shipyard refits and upgrades in Cape Town and Galveston.
