Managing a team of Hydraulic Technicians, Planning, Purchasing and Stores personnel in the production of new power units and the repair, replacement, testing & diagnostics of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, Valves and other related equipment. Supporting the Sales and Upper Management Teams.

* SALES TEAM MANAGEMENT Manage a team of sales staff responsible for providing quality hydraulic products and solutions delivered to our customers quickly and efficiently. Right first time and fit for purpose.* SYSTEM & EQUIPMENT DESIGN Design, sizing, specification and quotation of new hydraulic drive, control and positioning systems and/or the modifications to existing systems for improvement. * PROJECT MANAGEMENT Close liaison with the customer and Summit Workshop Team to build new hydraulic systems and associated equipment, factory proof testing, installation and commissioning on site to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met or exceeded. * ROUTINE EQUIPMENT INSPECTION PACKAGES Design and implementation of on-going hydraulic system care packages to ensure maximum equipment reliability for the long term. * CONSULTATION Consultation with customers on technical issues, equipment capabilities and input in RCA meetings from a hydraulic perspective. * CUSTOMER SYSTEMS UPDATE Audit of customers critical plant & equipment installed, creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) databases, updating and formalising hydraulic schematic diagrams

Manage a team of Service Technicians working from the Newcastle Base (Australia) to carry out specialist hydraulic services to the NSW State on critical plant and equipment in the mining, minerals, materials handling, recycling and pulp & paper industries. Service activities included the servicing and repairs of Heavy Industrial Hydraulic Drive Systems and Critical Braking Systems.This role included business management, forecasting, budgeting, staff recruitment, business development and meeting considerable health & safety objectives.

Consultation with customers to specify new or changes to existing hydraulic systems, components and/or specialist services required. Manage a team of Service Technicians to carry out in-house hydraulic cylinder manufacturing & repairs, hydraulic system & component repairs and full function testing. Coordinate & manage site based hydraulic equipment fault-finding & diagnosis, component & system repairs, equipment installation, flushing & commissioning as part of capital projects.

Primarily involved with the organisation and coordination of equipment disassembly, assessment, quotation and component repairs and manufacturing within the workshop. Responsible for training new apprentice machinists and welders. Also carried out hydraulic field servicing, fault-finding and system diagnosis and basic hydraulic system design and modification.

Design, build and repair hydraulic cylinders involving machining and welding procedures. Training of new apprentices to the organisation. In-house repairs to hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, hydraulic motors, steering units, hose manufacture, etc.

Learnt and developed in the machining and welding trades with a grounding in specialist hydraulic applications. Developed precision machining skills from exposure to the aeronautic industry through repairs to vintage aircraft components.
