After 15 years of working for large companies in the nuclear industry I started Jetseal, LLC in 1995 and have enjoyed the flexibility of being self-employed. Most of my engineering work is in the nuclear waste disposal arena. Being self-employed has allowed me to pursue other business interests as the need has arisen. Presently (under an outside business agreement with Fluor-Idaho) I am pursuing in my spare time resurrecting sub-seabed disposal of high-level-radioactive waste. Now that my wife and I are empty-nesters we have decided to convert our spacious home into a facility that can be used for large family gatherings - reunions, weddings, graduations, funerals, etc. We moved out of the main house into our guest cottage and originally listed the individual rooms on Airbnb to generate funds for the remodeling. Provide technical direction to the shift manager of the operating crew for the processing of the sodium-bearing radioactive waste stream stored in tanks at the Idaho National Laboratory. The dual steam reforming process of the IWTU will treat the liquid waste and convert it into a solid granular waste stream suitable for disposal at WIPP.

In 2005 I helped a neighbor start a custom metal fabrication and powder coating business. As a managing member of the LLC I advised the company on a part-time basis in business development and management. Over time my partner and his wife needed less and less of my input so we exercised one of the exit strategy options and I sold my interest to them.

Responsible for directing the efforts of CB&I’s mechanical commissioning staff at the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant Site where two AP1000 plants are being commissioned by a three-way consortium (Westinghouse, CB&I and Shandong Nuclear). Consortium’s mission is to mentor the young Chinese engineers in nuclear startup and testing so they can commission the remaining six plants planned for the Haiyang site, without foreign assistance.
