Conduct financial investigations of private employers' pension and health care plans for both criminal and civil violations of the Employee Income Security Act of 1974, as amended, (“ERISA”). Duties include investigations of the employers who sponsor ERISA covered Plans, investigation of broker/dealers providing services to ERISA covered Plans, investigation of Accounting and Law Firms providing services to ERISA covered Plans, investigation of banks, insurance companies, and other financial firms providing services to ERISA covered Plans with a focus on fee disclosure. Investigations consist of conducting interviews questioning employers and/or employers' agents and representatives, e.g., accountants, lawyers, and service providers, pursuant to §504 of ERISA, and preparing evidence for litigation. Prepare financial schedules, accounting spreadsheets, draft subpoenas, appointment letters, voluntary compliance letters, closing letters, reports of investigation for Regional Director, reports of investigation for litigation, legal memorandum for litigation, financial data for evidence.

Worked a three month detail for the Solicitor of Labor. Duties included analyzing case law, statutes, and legal publications regarding mostly employee benefits law, specifically the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and also the Fair Labor Standards Act. Drafted pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence. Attended hearings on motions.

Drafted legal memorandum for supervising attorney and helped prepare cases for trail. Helped draft motions and petitions for Tax Court proceedings.
