Craig Reschke, AIA is an architect and founding principal of Future Firm. At Future Firm, Craig leads projects across scales and sectors, focusing on future-oriented transformations of the built environment. Craig’s work provides ”architecture for changemakers”: projects for clients who have an exciting new vision for their industry, development approach, or local public space. Craig’s experience spans from the design-build development of contemporary single-family homes in Chicago to urban design proposals, including a new vision for Chicago that transforms alleys and garages into new civic spaces. At Future Firm, Craig is currently leading design on the renovation of a historic theater in Chicago’s Wicker Park, multiple tenant build-outs of new office and creative space, and a study for a 150+ unit mid-rise residential development. His ongoing research focuses on exploring the implementation of new construction techniques, forms, and spatial arrangements for housing, in order to provide cutting-edge design for everyone.Before founding Future Firm, Craig was project designer at RODE Architects and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Chicago where he led the design of buildings across scales including tall towers, corporate campuses, museum facilities, and unique hospitality spaces.In addition to his work at Future Firm, Craig also co-founded Hem House to bring contemporary residential projects to market with design-forward projects that reimagine the housing industry through architecture, construction, and user experience.
