End to end responsibility for all systems that business requires to function. Jay Peak is in the middle of a large expansion so most of the infrastructure has been built in the past six years. With the expansion, because there is an on site IT team for the first time in the companies history, we have had the opportunity to embrace cutting edge technologies across all areas. Projects that have been completed in the past six years include inter-connecting all buildings on campus (in excess of 120, privately owned and company owned) with a fiber optic network. Network technologies used include gigapon and traditional inter-building 1 GB and 10 GB links. Same network is used to distribute both commercial SATV and CATV signals so one dish is able to feed signal to over 1200 TV's campus wide. VMWare HA cluster implemented 3 years ago. RFID technology utilized for Ski access and all room access. Amazon EC2 utilized for disaster recovery for critical systems. Migrated from 400 endpoint primarily TDM phone system to 1400 phone 99% IP based system. Recently acquired a second resort 1 hour away and system upgrades are in process as well as new construction of 2 hotels. All things telecommunications; CATV, phone,networking, computer hardware and software. Provide all services to small community of condos and hotels.

Consulting company with clients varying from small single owner restaurants to larger multi-state fixed wireless businesses. For fixed wireless customers designed multi-state routing network that supported 5 mountain tops across NY and VT as well as subscribers in both states from all sites. Also setup franchisees at various locations to support subscribers in each local area. For other businesses, contracts ranged from completely setting up POS systems for a new restaurant (completely designed menu, setup kitchen routing, create opening an closing lists for business, train staff on use of system, and troubleshoot systems) to completely setting up physical networks. Many projects were outsourced IT projects that smaller companies did not have staff to execute, for instance creating a VPN solution for remote workers or extending a network connection several miles utilizing PtP fixed wireless equipment.

Managed the system engineering group for an active ecommerce start-up. Clients included Zanybrainy.com (a child learning toy company), Dicks Sporting Goods, and Ulta3 (a cosmetics company). Environment was primarily HP-UX based. Development environment was HP-UX with small fiber backed SAN. Production environment was also HP-UX with large storage frame also fiber backed. Software was Weblogic based. Development team was over 100 strong and system engineering team was responsible for supporting that groups needs on a daily basis. Managed group that ran through QA testing of new software releases prior to publication as well as team that monitored health of all systems both development and production.

Solaris system administrator and support for RBC trading floor in NYC. Very small environment and team since this was the only group using Solaris world wide for RBC at the time. Worked with various hardware and software technologies and supported specific trading group both front end and back end.

Primary responsibility was supporting Program Trading Desk's Solaris infrastructure and desktop platform world wide for Merrill Lynch. Due to the nature of that business, there was an extremely active development group dedicated to the program trading desk's initiatives and this group was also supported. During this time period Merrill Lynch was heavily investing in a Y2K preparation project that required moving all applications and infrastructure onto new Solaris 2.6 from SunOS 4.1.x software. All software had to be tested for Y2K compliance in a dedicated testing environment prior to migrating to new platform. Prior to leaving Merrill Lynch all software and systems had been migrated to new Solaris platform and fully integrated into production. Other responsibilities included maintaining direct communication lines to NYSE over the x.25 dedicated circuits. The NY program trading desk maintained 6 x.25 lines at that time. Also implemented a US Robotics remote access concentrator that supported up to ISDN speeds.
