I am a senior trainer with the Racial Equity Institute (REI) which is based in Greensboro, NC. I facilitate 2-day racial equity workshops across the county. The workshops provide a race analysis that focuses of structural/systemic racism. Workshop attendees entail persons from public, private, non-profit, faith, and community organizationsI was employed with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) for 26 years. I retired on May 1, 2014. My career afforded me the opportunity to regularly interact with citizens, public sector employees, the business community, and elected officials. Diverse assignments, promotions, and personal interests helped me to develop professional skill-sets in numerous areas including interpersonal skills, leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, and written communications. I have attended a plethora of professional training classes, seminars, and conferences in addition to obtaining a graduate degree in Public Administration.
