About Craig Schell
I have over 15+ years in the power tool industry with a primary focus in innovation and product development. By leveraging the underlying physics, application knowledge, end user needs, and economics, I can bring products from beginning of concept development through to production. I have 97 US patents in the power tools and instruments categories. My work is focused on electromechanical solutions, in order to change end user behavior and enhance productivity and profitability for the customer. I was primarily responsible for the birth of the Cordless Nailer Business and developed the first cordless assembly tool certified through ISO5393 for automotive and aerospace. I've also developed solutions utilizing localization and measurement technologies and have considerable background in inertial controls.Most recently I’ve worked on the operations side where lean material flow, well developed processes and extensive use of automation has reenabled onshore production. I have a good understanding of I4.0 principals which can enable the exploitation of the digital build data of production process to other business metrics. I am also skilled in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly methods to bring designs to improved profitability.
