As a Deputy Operations Manager, I am still involved with the duties I had as an Admin Assistant but have broadened my skillset through managing a team. As the model range and platforms we used grew, so did the team and my experience in the role was recognised as a team lead. I help problem solve for the Admin team, as well as suggest areas where we can create efficiencies to the benefit of the wider investment team. I have gained experience in Platform trading (placing the trades of the models across all the necessary platforms) and oversee the team to ensure that all trades are placed without error. I have first-hand experience and knowledge over the way platform technology works and understand the many challenges companies face when dealing with platform tech. Through my extensive experience with Power BI, I was fundamental in making sense of the data coming into the business and translating that for internal stakeholders for reporting purposes. Working with the data and applying calculations to the raw inputs meant the level of insight that could be drawn from the data was increased across the business, allowing for greater operational efficiency and decision making through better targeting of clients on the sales side and allowing for easier trend analysis for strategically focused stakeholders.

As an Administration Assistant I was a key contributor in the creation of all necessary documents, reports and sales literature for the entire range of model portfolios. I primarily used Adobe InDesign and Excel including VBA and became proficient in its use. I was also heavily involved in the reporting of our weekly AUM flow data and successfully proposed, created and implemented an estimated flow figure to help with the reporting that circulated to relevant internal stakeholders including C-suite. Maintaining the various platforms our models were available on was a crucial part of the role. Liaising with the sales teams to onboard new sales, as well as problem solving in direct communication with the platforms themselves ensured a challenging and ever changing environment, which I thrived in.
