• Hold technical review meetings with the software development teams to ensure awareness of any new technologies being used by development.• Create and execute test cases based on documented client requirements and technical specifications.• Perform risk assessment based on original requirements and delivered product.• Perform testing on Java, PHP, Ruby, HTMLDB and XHTML based applications.• Maintain test environment for deployment of code, including tomcat & apache web servers, JMS and database servers.• Execute test scripts, and check results, on Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.• Manage the day to day activities of the QA team, ensuring the work schedule is regularly updated with information of future software releases so as to ensure that the resources would be available for testing.• Regularly hold meetings with development teams to gain an understanding of the applications in development and to learn of project timescales relating to the intended live release dates.• Ensure all ‘bugs’ are accurately recorded within tracking application, generally TRAC. Manage bug from inception to resolution. • Verify all ‘bug fixes’, recording results as part of the test case documentation and also in the tracking application to provide accessible information of knowledge gained during bug fix.• Review and update application technical documentation to be used by the support department, ensuring they have accurate information to provide a high level of support to customers.• Created and maintained all QA process documentation to inform development and support team members how to interact with the department, so that all requests for QA resource can be achieved.• Creation of a bug lifecycle process for the QA department.• Develop and deliver training courses on in house management systems and bespoke applications.• Responsible for managing all company mobile phones and contracts as well as maintaining the company’s Avaya PBX phone system.
