About Craig St. Clair

It's not every day that you get to personally place your work in the hands of a world leader. Yet there I was, explaining to Pope Francis the importance of the Verbum software I had just handed him.I have been fortunate in my career to deliver world-class content products that transform people's lives.Working with tools aimed at transformation has been a life-long passion. My first love was history. I wanted to avoid the mistakes of the past and absorb its wisdom. Philosophy, religion, and the social sciences followed. In college and grad school came the transformative power of belief, realizing that putting knowledge and ideas into action possessed a synergy to transform people and the world around them.Product management naturally fits my ever-curious mind and interdisciplinary systems education. I saw connections between seemingly disparate things, bringing people and processes together. I possess a blend of people-focused skills, subject matter expertise, and a breadth and depth of experience with the product management life cycle. My passion for knowledge and transformation manifested in the products I brought to the world. Whether I was writing abstracts early in my career at EBSCO or later on working on transforming print into digital with the Historical Archives, I could put my historical and theological knowledge directly to work, releasing over 80 products containing over 40k historical titles. Directly working with world-class heritage organizations helped me learn to listen to and understand client needs while representing their content to our academic customers. After several years at EBSCO, I took on a new role as Product Manager for the Verbum Catholic Study Software with Faithlife, Inc., where I grew gross annual revenue by 30%. I expanded my skills into event planning to increase Verbum's market visibility and acquire new customers. I successfully gathered and led a lean event team that grossed up to $20k annually. Finally, while supporting the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, I handed Pope Francis a copy of the Verbum software in a semi-private audience. As the pandemic struck in 2020, I sought a new opportunity. I became the Product Manager of Platform Services for the Copyright Clearance Center. I managed two Scaled Agile dev teams that processed external metadata for the company's customer-facing applications.I am excited to see what the future will bring! Please feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn. I love to connect over coffee, whether in person or virtually.
