Supportive role of all craft disciplines for British Petroleum's (BP) Capital Projects. Work with Cost Controllers to maintain budgets.

JH Kelly is a self-performing industrial general contractor at process plants throughout the greater Pacific Northwest, Idaho and Montana. As Field Engineer, I support civil, structural steel, piping, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation disciplines, as needed. Currently I am assigned to the Great Western Malting project ($80M) in Pocatello, Idaho. I was assigned to HESS Gas Plant Expansion project ($800M) located in Tioga, North Dakota. My primary role as Field Engineer was to support Pipe Craft in a Construction Management environment. Daily activities would utilize management software to track costs, materials, blueprint and specifications; write RFIs and ensure product met QC/QA standards. During site walks I would learn to meet craft worker’s needs in keeping production efficient, as well as participate in safety audit activities. Near project’s end I helped track system completeness, and prepare client turn-over documentation.Voluntary leave, open for re-employment. Recently relocated to the greater Seattle area.

Here was a long term relationship in high end custom home building ($1-2M.) I was responsible for overseeing our team’s daily activities and material management. I would review project with vendors for scheduling and voice client concerns. When projects lapsed in connectivity I would find smaller through my own small business (see next submission.) It worked for us because I have always had a strong work ethic and propensity for accuracy. I am dependable. To these years, I have extensive experience in design and estimating materials. While in 2009 it was the economy that propelled my determination to pursue a new career, it was also the desire for new challenges; and now the excitement to be here in the greater Pacific Northwest region. We acted as Client representative in the development of Newmont Mining Corporation’s Phoenix Mill Expansion project ($80M) located south of Battle Mountain, NV. My primary role was to support team superintendents (civil, structural steel, mechanical, electrical) needs. I was responsible to receive and organize documentation/drawings for distribution/redistribution. I also tracked vendor procured materials/equipment, as well as field progress in effort to adhere to scheduling. I was assigned to the equipment/electrical commissioning phase for client turn-over.Project completion. Canadian firm no longer had USA interests.

I observed and assisted with the daily functions supporting a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) automation system (field system monitoring and control efficiency design) at remote natural gas well sites. Our group would meet each morning to review field reports determining our task assignments for the day (maintenance or new well installation.) Most days required site visits to troubleshoot system failures and remedy through terminal program reconfiguration using laptops and/or replacement/calibration of end devices. Because of the remoteness of these sites, solar panel and battery power supply was utilized. While this sourcing was essential for the automation control function, it also provided for the critical link of radio communication. Data transfer from each well to the Master hub allowed managers to make value decisions.Summer internship.

I used this business to supplement my income when not fully employed with Built to Last Construction. I built three homes and performed smaller residential addition/renovation projects in conformance to client's design and budget.
