Cooking the Books provides comprehensive bookkeeping services to hospitality based clients throughout Perth. As Co-Director, I am responsible for overseeing the delivery of bookkeeping services such as AP & AR, Payroll, Journals, Accruals and Reconciliations, meeting with clients monthly to discuss P&L and providing financial guidance and insight to inform business and financial strategy.

With a keen interest in travel, I have developed and operated a successful mobile travel business for many years, providing travel solutions to Leisure and Corporate clients across the globe. This has involved sales & business development, marketing & communications, customer engagement and retention, vendor management, and overseeing all finance and administration requirements.

Working as a member of the organisation’s Executive Team, I was responsible for leading Finance operations throughout a period of significant growth, with annual turnover increasing throughout my tenure from $1M to >$15M. Initially, the organisation operated a few restaurants and bars, expanding to own a portfolio of large venues. I led and motivated a cross-functional team to achieve optimal performance, as well as overseeing government and statutory compliance, property leasing and management, reporting, financial strategy, asset management, payroll (up to 100 employees), budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, I led the development and implementation of systems and processes which drove productivity, efficiency and financial performance, whilst enhancing cash flow to support the business’ expansion and ensure sustainability.In addition to my Finance management responsibilities, I also held a position on the company’s Board, oversaw all Human Resources functions and performed GM tasks including business and operational strategy development and execution, administration management, stock control, event and social media strategy, and supplier management and negotiations.Selected Achievements:➟ Managed high value supply contracts for a complex business, including managing key beverage suppliers such as Lion and Carlton United Brewery to deliver goods totalling >$1 million p.a., achieving optimal ROI and supplier performance➟ Worked as a trusted member of the Executive team, providing subject matter expertise and supporting strategy development and execution, assisting the business to meet strategic goals➟ Made significant contributions to the establishment of venues including Bar One, The Boulevard and The Brisbane, including managing building/fit out costs, menu design and costing and introduction of POS systems
