A member of the federal government’s Senior Executive Service (SES), and civilian Deputy to the Commanding General overseeing two-thirds of the Marine Corps’ Operational Forces. Special focus on the multi-billion dollar, multi-national [Japan, Australia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Island (CNMI), Hawaii] repositioning of Marine Corps’ forces in the Pacific -- the largest such effort since World War II.

Developed, then led, a Secretary of the Army initiative to reconnect America to its Armed Forces in a time of war. Resulted in all 50 states and hundreds of counties, cities, and towns signing Community Covenant proclamations and pledging tens of millions of dollars of support in the form of new programs and other products, benefits, and services. Secretary of the Army Pete Geren recognized my efforts with the top two awards given to civilians just 8 months into the project at the annual AUSA Conference in 2008.

Deputy to the Commanding General of US Army Pacific overseeing all Army forces in the Pacific from Alaska to Japan. Concurrently was the first Chief of Staff for a 4-star Navy-led Joint Task Force charged with preparing for a major war plan. After 9/11, led the multi-agency effort on behalf of Commander Pacific Command, to secure the state of Hawaii against terrorist attack — an effort that received national recognition. Responsible for all Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs — Army wide — including Soldier and Family Programs, a $1.6B business.Executive agent for four world-class destination resorts for Service members including Garmisch (Germany); the Shades of Green at Disney World; the Hale Koa in Honolulu, Hawaii; and Dragon Hill Lodge in Seoul, Korea.

Directly responsible to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the Secretary of Defense, and the President of the United States for immediate crisis reporting and nuclear response.
