With a background as an orchestral oboe player it was never likely that I would end up working with bands and singer-song writers in live production. But the path less trodden has a lot to recommend it!I've produced band-with-orchestra shows for The Hidden Cameras, Patrick Wolf and These New Puritans, garnering great reviews and invaluable musical memories. I'm never happier than when straddling the two sides of the musical fence, trying to not get splinters in my fingers.I've played as an orchestral musician (Opera North, Northern Sinfonia, Welsh Chamber Orchestra) and as a band member (The Hidden Cameras, The Irrepressibles, Patrick Wolf). I've promoted my own gigs and advanced 100s of other people's gigs, and as a tour manager taken tours around the UK, Europe, US, Russia and Australia, including the major stages and festivals (Barbican, South Bank, Cigale, Le Botanique, Sydney Opera House, Hollywood Bowl, Glastonbury, Les Inrock...). The sum of this experience is a detailed knowledge of acoustic instruments, the amplified environment and the divergent expectations and working practices of classical and band musicians.Along side this, for the past 4 years I've been involved in the alternative cabaret scene as a show/event producer, firstly in Manchester at Mother's Ruin and currently for Vogue Fabrics in London.
