Supported the $7 billion Group Medical and Specialty business by developing the P&L financial projections and setting budgets for membership, revenue, headcount and administrative expenses.

Oversaw all regulatory activities for the $102 billion life and health insurance markets in Florida and served as actuarial consultant regarding legislative changes and marketplace trends for the governor, cabinet, and legislature while leading a team of 90 FTEs.

Responsible for reviewing $54 billion in premiums, ensuring rate adequacy and market health for a variety of markets including LTC, DI, Dental, Vision, Med Sup, and Major Medical.

• Developed comprehensive market models for the Individual and Small Group ACA markets that provided a detailed view of carrier pricing activities in meaningful and actionable summaries.

Managing Actuary – Financial Performance and Analysis Team• Responsible for company-wide enrollment forecasting, reporting, and analysis, encompassing Individual, Small Group, Large Group, Med Sup and MA lines of business.o Developed "live enrollment" reporting capabilities enabling us to monitor enrollment results in real time resulting in strategic adjustments to marketing spend as well as staffing levels at service organizations and clinics. This had been a frequently requested capability from senior leadership that had never previously been delivered.Managing Actuary – Small Group ACA and Pre-ACA Pricing• Led team that priced the Small Group ACA and Pre-ACA plans.o Responsible for $1.2 billion in revenue, $264 million in underwriting margin.o Developed trend, area factor, and product factor assumptions.

• Led team that built and maintained the MA pricing model.o Model used to price all 650 of Humana Inc.’s MA bids, enabling $23 billion in revenue.o Under my tenure as team lead, time to generate member premium decreased 30%, time to create a bid decreased 80%.• Worked in SQL and VBA to develop the programing within the MA pricing model.

• Completed 31 MA bids for 2011 resulting in $910 million in revenue.• Improved loss ratio from 86.4% to 84.8%, earning Humana an additional $14 million.

• Assisted in the creation 60 MA bids that generated $1.8 billion in revenue.
